How to Start Your Garden
While much is beyond our control, we maintain the power to affect the lives of the beings around us. Growing a garden is an act of care—an offering of intention and love to the soil, plants, fungi, and creatures that you share space with. If you feel the urge to give back to the ecosystems around you, you can do so by creating a garden that is rooted in mutual resilience and cooperative abundance.
In this workshop, you'll receive guidance from an experienced garden instructor and connect with others as you learn how to assess your yard or porch setup, choose the right plants and materials, plan for planting, and take the first steps toward cultivating a thriving garden.
The Power of Propagation
You have the power - the power to propagate! There’s something truly magical about turning one plant into many, watching new roots form, and seeing fresh leaves unfurl.
While some plants are quick to multiply, others need a little more coaxing. Many common houseplants and garden favorites can be propagated through cuttings, suckers, plantlets, or root division, but the key is knowing which method works best for each plant.
In this hands-on workshop, we’ll dive into the fascinating world of plant propagation and explore the techniques needed to successfully grow new plants from existing ones. Together, we’ll work with a few different plant varieties - including a succulent, a grassy plant, and an herb (which ones? You’ll have to join us to find out!).
We’ll cover the essential steps for success, troubleshoot common mistakes, and even discuss those stubborn plants that simply refuse to root. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned plant parent, bring your curiosity and your questions - we’ll get growing together! What better way to ring in the season for this summer solstice?
This is a no-cost workshop with a suggested donation of $20. Walk-ins are welcome, but those who RSVP will receive exclusive takeaways!

Together, we'll explore various composting methods for both indoor and outdoor spaces, walk through the necessary steps and materials, and troubleshoot common challenges. There’s no better time to reduce food waste, enrich the soil, and support local ecosystems.
